I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize next month's boxing match.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
